Russia and the Gulf Cooperation Council are preparing an expert-level meeting to discuss new cooperation initiatives, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi said Sunday.
Speaking at the ninth ministerial meeting of the Russia-GCC Strategic Dialogue in Manama, Albudaiwi said a previously planned technical meeting in Moscow had been postponed because of developments in the Middle East. He said a new date would be agreed.
Albudaiwi said Gulf states wanted closer relations with Russia in line with their national interests. He identified politics, trade, culture, education, energy and food as areas for stronger cooperation.
