N. Korea tests guided torpedo equipped with AI tech

 North Korea test-fired the Cham-2.0 submarine-launched torpedo equipped with AI technology, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.

"The National Defense Academy, the General Directorate of Rocket Science, and the Torpedo Research Department conducted a test launch of a submarine-launched torpedo on October 15," KCNA said. Significantly, AI technology has been integrated into the torpedo's target acquisition and control systems, amid North Korea's ongoing efforts to expand and modernize its missile capabilities.

Last week, the country conducted a similar launch of submarine-launched strategic cruise missiles in the Sea of Japan, known in Korea as the East Sea.
