LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman (pictured left) and billionaire businessman and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (pictured right) have contributed millions of dollars to support Democratic candidates ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, CNBC reported Friday.
Hoffman has donated a total of $8 million to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin over the past five weeks, seeking to bolster Democratic candidate for governor David Crowley's bid against Republican nominee Tom Tiffany. Meanwhile, Bloomberg spent $750,000 to support Democratic Texas nominee for governor Gina Hinojosa, adding to the $80 million he has already pledged to the Democratic Party.
Meanwhile, PayPal co-founder Luke Nosek contributed $500,000 to the Texas-based political action committee Judicial Fairness PAC this week, adding to the funding the group has received from SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who previously donated $2 million. State records show Musk's total political contributions have now reached approximately $475 million.
