Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered the military to respond immediately to any threats, regardless of where they originate, and expand its list of potential US and Israeli targets, Iranian state media reported on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by Armed Forces Chief of Staff Ali Abdollahi, Army Commander Amir Hatami and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Ahmad Vahidi.
According to the state media report, Khamenei instructed senior military commanders to prepare an "immediate and effective response without geographic limitations" to threats of any kind or scale.
"If the enemies once again launch military or terrorist attacks, Iran's armed forces and people will determine when and under what conditions they end," Khamenei was quoted as saying.
Khamenei also ordered commanders to update their list of potential targets to include a wider range of US and Israeli assets.
