The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said Friday it targeted weapons-smuggling operations by the Iran-backed Houthis involving shipments transported by sea to Yemen’s Hodeidah governorate.
Coalition spokesperson Turki al-Maliki released a video that he said showed weapons being transported by sea, unloaded on Yemeni shores and moved in military vehicles, as well as strikes on vehicles carrying the weapons.
The coalition said the smuggling network used organized crime groups to deliver weapons to the Houthis and that some of the shipments were being transported to Yemeni islands.
“We strike them on land and sink them at sea,” al-Maliki said in a post accompanying the video.
