The world's wealthiest person and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk, insisted on Saturday that the Ukrainian military used Starlink for offensive operations "to kill people."
"Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week," Musk said in a post on X, reiterating that Starlink is meant exclusively for defensive operations. "Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact," he stressed.
In addition, he claimed that SpaceX contributed to Ukraine's defense more than "any private company on Earth BY FAR," as Starlink prevented Russia from "overrunning" Ukraine in the early stages of the war after Russia destroyed or blocked all other means of communication.
