TikTok US said to want multiple GWs of computing power

 TikTok USDS Joint Venture, the United States entity of the famous social media platform, is aiming to obtain multiple gigawatts of computing power, CNBC reported on Friday, citing sources.

One of the sources detailed that the company is looking to secure four gigawatts of compute capacity by the early 2030s. Compute capacity is very important for social media platforms, given the amount of data they have to handle daily.

"[TikTok US] runs primarily on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in the US and Oracle will continue to be our primary cloud infrastructure provider," a spokesperson for the firm told CNBC.
