About one-third of Iran’s lawmakers are expected to attend parliamentary sessions in person from next week, while others will be able to speak and vote remotely by tablet, lawmaker Valiollah Bayati said on Wednesday.
The presiding board’s current plan is for each parliamentary committee to select three members to attend in person on a rotating basis, Bayati said. The arrangement has not been finalized, but it would allow all lawmakers to attend in person at some point during the month.
Lawmakers want to hold in-person sessions, he said, but current wartime conditions do not allow all 275 members to gather in one place.
