South Korea's National Office of Investigation launched a formal probe into recent cyberattacks targeting financial institutions and formed a 28-member team to investigate the incidents, Yonhap News Agency reported.
The case was opened on suspicion of violations of the Information and Communications Network Act following an initial review of the circumstances.
The National Police Agency's cyberterrorism investigation unit will lead the probe, with four teams assigned to the case.
