Saudi Arabia's Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman (pictured) announced on Monday that the Mecca Defense Alliance, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey, agreed to activate a collective deterrence mechanism amid recent attacks on Saudi Arabia.
"The Emergency Meeting of the Strategic Political and Defense Committee under the Makkah Alliance for Defense reaffirmed the solidarity and unity of our countries in confronting the heinous attacks against the Kingdom and the holy sites," the defense minister wrote on X following the meeting, adding that the deterrence measure will be activated in response to recent attacks and "all those responsible for them."
