Brazil's Federal Police opened a preliminary procedure to examine possible United States interference in the country's elections, Director-General Andrei Rodrigues said on Sunday.
Rodrigues said the review was launched after a request from the Attorney General's Office and is being handled by the force's intelligence directorate. He stressed that a formal police inquiry has not yet been opened.
Separately, Brazil's electoral court said it had not identified any concrete evidence of foreign interference in the election.
