US President Donald Trump revealed on Friday that the European governments agreed to release diesel from their own strategic reserves.
"Europe has just agreed to release a massive amount of its heavily stocked Diesel Oil. The process will begin immediately," the American head of state wrote on Truth Social. The announcement comes as French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that G7 leaders reached a deal to release up to 100 million barrels of emergency diesel and crude oil stocks over four months to ease pressure on fuel markets.
The Trump administration was lobbying Europe to help soften the global pressure as the Iran crisis entered its 8th month.
