Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceXAI, and Google are facing a federal antitrust lawsuit accusing them of illegal collusion, according to a civil lawsuit filed in federal court.
The legal action follows recent public calls by industry executives to slow down artificial intelligence (AI) development. "When it comes to existential threats like nuclear war—and now the greatest risk in human history—humanity deserves ironclad guarantees. The rule of law should be established by government in a transparent, lawful manner, accountable to the public," lawyer Nick Rowley said in a statement.
The tech firms have not yet commented on the matter.
