DoorDash Inc. revealed its drone delivery system on Wednesday, with infrastructure and delivery orchestration designed to scale for all local businesses. Pilot drone deliveries will first start in Northern California in partnership with Chipotle Mexican Grill and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
The company also introduced a number of other novelties, including a DoorDash connector for corporate ordering, new AI tools such as DashBuddy, ordering by text, partnerships with Macy’s, Anthropologie, The North Face, Vans, and Timberland, and finally DashOS.
DashOS is a platform designed to work alongside the systems already used by restaurants, with the main goal of helping them grow. "At its core, it connects a customer’s interactions with the same restaurant across channels, whether they order from that restaurant on DoorDash or directly, join its loyalty program, make a reservation or dine there," the company explained.
