NATO chief says Europe lacked ability to destroy Iran nuclear capacity

 

Europe lacked the military capability to destroy Iran’s nuclear capacity, making the US operation “absolutely essential,” NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte told Euronews on Wednesday.

Rutte acknowledged that the war has produced “negative consequences” but said those costs had to be weighed against the need to eliminate Iran’s nuclear capability. He added that Europe should develop the capacity to conduct similar operations itself in the future.
