United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Wednesday the establishment of the Autonomous Warfare Command, or Autowarcom, which will be led by Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and Anduril founder Palmer Luckey.
The new project is designed "to scale autonomous and robotic capabilities across the joint force," the secretary said. He stressed that the three leaders are "America's best minds to study the future of warfare."
Furthermore, Hegseth confirmed that the US military will cut 20% of its generals and admirals. "The media calls it a 'purge.' I call it accountability and long overdue. And the bare minimum," he emphasized.
