OpenAI President Greg Brockman has decided to pull back from a second $25 million donation he pledged to give to Leading the Future, a political group seeking to elect pro-AI members of Congress, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Brockman and his wife made the first $25 million donation to the super PAC last September, pledging to give the same amount again in 2026. But Brockman told employees in June that he had no plans to go through with the second donation, the report said, citing a person familiar with the matter.
In the message, Brockman acknowledged that the move, which was criticized by OpenAI employees, created a distraction, according to the report.
