South Korean President Lee Jae-myung announced plans to act as a pacemaker to restart United States and North Korea nuclear talks during the United Nations General Assembly, Yonhap reported.
"I hope the long-suspended dialogue between North Korea and the US can resume without delay," Lee said, adding he aims to "end the war on the Korean Peninsula and transition into a peace regime." Focusing on regional stability, he proposed a step-by-step denuclearization approach.
He also shared a new plan for artificial intelligence and energy safety, declaring that "attacks on merchant vessels and threats to the lives and safety of crew members cannot be justified under any circumstances."
