Canadian Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre said he and deputy leader Melissa Lantsman discussed removing IRGC-linked individuals from Canada and imposing further sanctions on Tehran with Iran’s exiled prince Reza Pahlavi.
“An honour for Deputy Leader Melissa Lantsman and I to welcome Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to Canada to rally for freedom and against terrorism,” Poilievre said Monday in a post on X.
“We discussed the need to kick IRGC terror agents out of Canada and sanction the illegitimate terror regime in Tehran, which has murdered dozens of Canadian citizens and thousands of its own people,” he added.
Pahlavi was in Toronto for the Cyrus the Great II event on September 19, which organizers described as a gathering focused on Iran’s heritage, human rights, freedom and future.
Poilievre also thanked Pahlavi for “fighting for the freedom of your people.”
