Iraq may suspend flights by US-sanctioned Iran's airlines

 The Iraqi authorities will supposedly suspend flights by Iranian airlines affected by US sanctions, AFP reported on Monday.

"Iraq will enforce the ban on Iranian airlines in accordance with the US Treasury decision starting Tuesday at dawn," the new outlet said, citing sources familiar with the matter, who also warned that "countries that do not implement the decision risk sanctions."

Earlier today, United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that all Iranian airlines will be shut down globally from Wednesday, September 23.
