'Zakharova: Latvia, Estonia intimidating Russian voters'

 Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Latvia and Estonia are intimidating Russian citizens wanting to vote by having police check and record documents at embassies.

"Of course, we can and should talk about the outright intimidation of our compatriots in their desire to vote, in particular, this is happening directly in Latvia and Estonia," Zakharova told Vesti, adding that "the police check and record the documents of any person who tries to enter the Russian embassy, literally conducting a census."

Data from the Central Election Commission (CEC), reported via state media, showed overall voter participation reached 44.57% by midnight, September 20, local time.
