Iranian Interior Ministry Spokesman Ali Zeinivand said on Saturday that international mediation efforts are continuing to resolve issues and restore the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
He stressed "the necessity for the other side to adhere to its commitments" under the agreement, which he said had been approved by Iran's Supreme National Security Council and confirmed by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Foreign Ministry is overseeing the mediation process and negotiations, he added.
His remarks came as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation about issues of mutual interest and the latest regional developments.
