Fico: Western leaders want NATO-Russia conflict

 Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico posted a video message on Saturday, saying that some Western leaders are trying to drag NATO into a fight with Russia.

"The failure of the strategy to destroy Russia through the war in Ukraine has led some Western politicians ⁠to believe that if the goal cannot be achieved through the Ukrainian army and full support for it, then every effort must be made to trigger a conflict between NATO and Russia," he stated, adding that Moscow "cannot be defeated in a conventional war."

Fico already brought into question NATO's Article 5 mutual defense clause amid recent drone incursions, insisting that he doesn't want Slovakia to be a part of a military conflict because of it.
