Republican Rep. Tim Burchett said Iran had been close to obtaining a nuclear weapon and was preparing to “launch Armageddon” before President Donald Trump intervened, in an interview with Fox News.
“The Iranians were close to nuclear; they were getting ready to launch Armageddon, from what I understand,” Burchett told “The Big Weekend Show” on Sunday. He added that he believed Iran would otherwise have obtained a nuclear weapon and used it against Israel or another country.
Trump said Sunday he is in a “deciding mode” over Iran, weighing military action, continued economic pressure or a deal, and told Fox News that “very big things” could happen soon.
