British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said that the United Kingdom will provide "defensive air-to-air refuelling" support to help Saudi Arabia counter attacks from Yemen's Houthi group.
The offer will involve a single British Voyager aircraft based out of RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus to refuel Saudi air force jets, helping them intercept incoming Houthi drones and ballistic missiles.
The agreement follows an official request for "military support" from Saudi Arabia, which Burnham agreed to on the advice of Defence Secretary Wes Streeting and Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, officials stated.
