Putin: West trying to pull up 'new iron curtain', backs Palestinian state

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Thursday that it is not Russia, but the West, that is trying to pull up a "new iron curtain," adding that any attempt to do so will "fail."

Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club, Putin pointed out that the world should be multipolar and diverse, and called on the international community to work together to create a new world order. He also noted that BRICS could be a "prototype" for the new order, as all countries within the organization are "equal."

Moreover, the Russian president touched on the military conflict in Gaza, adding that the only possible solution is the establishment of the "fully-fledged" Palestinian state.
