The United States Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued fresh Iran-related sanctions on Thursday, imposing penalties on two individuals and 28 entities.
According to the Treasury, new restrictive measures are aimed at Iran's major automotive and railway enterprises as part of a previously announced "economic onslaught."
Previously, media reports suggested that Washington is considering offering Tehran sanctions relief in exchange for progress on the nuclear issue, which US President Donald Trump rejected as a "hoax."
