At least 15 injured in Tel Aviv cluster bomb attack

Israel's emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) reported on Sunday that at least15 people were injured in a ballistic missile attack on Tel Aviv by Iran that used a cluster bomb warhead, sending dozens of smaller explosives across an extensive area. Most victims sustained light injuries.

Ichilov Hospital said four of its seven admitted patients are in moderate condition. MDA noted that a 53-year-old man, initially listed as moderate, has since worsened to serious condition.

Meanwhile, officials are reportedly considering drastic reductions in flights at Ben Gurion Airport due to the rate of fire and use of such munitions.

Saar in Arad: Iran's attacks have no military significance, only civilian harm

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar dismissed Iran's recent attacks in cities like Arad and Dimona as having "ANY military significance whatsoever," asserting their sole purpose is civilian harm.

Speaking at an impact site in Arad, he stated: "All of these attacks don't have ANY military significance whatsoever. The only targets is to hurt as many civilians as possible. It is clearly a war crime."

Saar made the remarks while visiting the strike area alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.

US says Iranian missile assembly facility destroyed

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on Sunday the destruction of Iran's Kuh-e Barjamali Ballistic Missile Assembly Facility, a site where Iran allegedly built close-, short-, and medium-range missiles.

In a social media post, CENTCOM shared satellite images showing the facility before March 1 and after March 7, noting that it is now "out of commission."

The facility is situated in the Barjamali Hills, southeast of Tehran.

'UK minister dismisses Iran missile threat claims'

British Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government Steve Reed rejected on Sunday the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claims that Iran possesses missiles capable of striking European capitals like London.

Speaking to local media, Reed stated "there is no assessment to substantiate what's being said," about Tehran's alleged plans or even having the capacity to target Europe. "I'm not aware of any assessment at all that they are even trying to target Europe, let alone that they could if they tried," he insisted. On Saturday, the IDF said that the Iranian forces posed "a global threat," claiming the country's missiles "can reach London, Paris or Berlin," without offering any evidence to back up its claim.

Addressing a separate US threat to Iran, Reed declined to comment on US President Donald Trump's 48-hour deadline, stating he "speaks for himself." Reed affirmed Britain will avoid being "dragged into war" while working with allies to de-escalate regional tensions.

Netanyahu: Time for other countries to join against Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Sunday that it is time for other nations to join the fight against Iran, speaking from the southern Israeli city of Arad a day after it was struck by an Iranian missile attack.

Surveying the site of the attack alongside Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, Netanyahu noted that air raid sirens had blared ten minutes before the rocket struck, yet some residents did not make it to bomb shelters. Framing the ongoing conflict as an "existential struggle," he pressed international leaders to step up alongside Israel.

"We are engaged in a struggle related to our existence," Netanyahu said. "It is time to see the leaders of the rest of the countries join up against Iran, and some are already beginning to move in that direction."

Trump Administration Nears CDC Pick as Agency Faces Ongoing Leadership Changes

The Trump administration is closing in on its pick to lead the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as the nation’s top public health agency grapples with a barrage of attacks and leadership changes in the past year.

Ernie Fletcher, a family physician and former governor of Kentucky, and Joseph Marine, a cardiologist at Johns Hopkins Medicine, are among the candidates on the short list, according to people familiar with the matter. The agency has had three leaders in the last year, a sign of the upheaval in public health agencies during President Donald Trump’s second term.

China’s premier vows to back balanced trade as exports surge

Premier Li Qiang pledged to address worries trade partners have over China’s large surplus, underscoring Beijing’s concern the issue could disrupt relations with more nations during a fragile truce with the US over the issue.

“We take our trading partners’ concerns seriously and we are ready to work with all parties to promote the sound and balanced development of trade,” Li said in a keynote speech at the China Development Forum in Beijing on Sunday.

“We will also further widen market access for the services sector and increase imports of medical and health care products, digital technologies and low carbon services to provide more business opportunities for foreign companies,” he added.

China racked up a record trade surplus of $1.2 trillion last year and exports continued to surge in the first two months of the year, exacerbating worry in many countries around the world about the future of their own industries.

The US and China engaged in a major trade war in 2025 that has been put on pause with a one-year truce reached by President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping in October. In December, French President Emmanuel Macron warned that the European Union may be forced to take “strong measures” against China, including potential tariffs, if Beijing fails to address its widening trade imbalance with the bloc.

Authorities in Beijing have taken some steps to address the rising trade tensions, including by reducing export tax rebates for hundreds of products such as solar cells and batteries.

China’s manufacturing strength comes with the economy troubled by weak domestic consumption. The nation’s industries including solar are also struggling with overcapacity and intense price competition.

Beijing has made progress in curbing so‑called involution‑style competition, Li said.

The Iran War is also increasing risks for China’s economy. Higher fuel and raw material costs could further squeeze profit margins for manufacturers.

China has already set its most modest annual growth target since 1991. Beijing appears to be taking steps to fortify the economy, with government spending off to its fastest start to any year since 2022.
