US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Washington could intervene against Yemen's Houthis if the Iran-aligned group again becomes a threat, while noting that the United States is not currently involved.
"We're not involved with that. But we may, you know, if they're a problem, we'll probably have to get involved," Trump told reporters when asked whether he was concerned about Saudi Arabia and the Houthis.
Trump said the United States had previously dealt with the group, referring to the US military campaign against the Houthis under Operation Rough Rider between March and May 2025. "We knocked the hell out of them, as you know. We didn't have any problems with the Houthis after that," he said.
