The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Iran's top joint military command, said new and advanced naval mines are being laid along routes south of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post online, the headquarters' spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari said the deployment was taking place while United Stats forces were occupied defending their bases.
He ended the message with "Thank you for your attention to this matter," a phrase often used by US President Donald Trump to close his statements.
