Yemen: New clashes with Houthis in Red Sea

 The pro-government Yemeni Armed Forces reported on Monday four new naval clashes with the Houthi movement.

In an X post, the military said that the incidents occurred near the Hanish and Zuqar islands in the Red Sea. The Houthis allegedly tried to dock and infiltrate the islands. It noted that it was the second time in less than a week that the Houthis tried to threaten navigation in the Red Sea and establish the islands as a point for smuggling weapons and related equipment.

Earlier in the month, it was reported that Saudi Arabia could respond to recent Houthi attacks on its strategic locations and ships by boosting support for the official Yemeni government, essentially restarting the armed conflict.
