Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s contact with US envoy Steve Witkoff took place without authorization from Iran’s policymaking bodies, including the Supreme National Security Council, the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News reported.
It cited Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, as saying the approved plan had been limited to conveying Iran’s seven conditions through mediators.
It also called Araghchi’s reported interaction with Witkoff a “major error” contrary to Iran’s national interests and demanded that he explain his actions.
