Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced in a statement on Wednesday that the country's military has eliminated Hamas's financial department leader, Mohammed Abu Alwan.
The two said that the official was killed in Khan Younis in a joint action conducted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet intelligence agency.
"We continue to pursue Hamas commanders and operatives, strike its sources of funding, and destroy its terror infrastructure. We will not allow Hamas to rebuild its strength, and we will not stop until there is no Hamas in Gaza," they wrote.
