The IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency reported that Baghdad and Muscat airports stopped accepting Iranian flights from the start of Tuesday, citing Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization.
Authorities were in talks to reroute Baghdad-bound flights to Najaf, according to the report.
The move follows reports that Iraq was set to ban Iranian flights in Baghdad. Flights by Iranian airlines to Azerbaijan were also suspended from Tuesday because of US sanctions on Iran’s aviation sector, while Turkish Airlines said Monday that it had halted all flights to Iran until at least March 2027.
