Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Wednesday that there is a possibility that artificial intelligence could soon decide the outcome on battlefields.
"We need to slow down the rapid development of weapons for killing before we reach the next stage, because as early as next year, there is already a real possibility that AI, not only people, will begin to decide what happens on the battlefield. And we need peace before we reach that point," Zelensky warned during his address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Moreover, the Ukrainian president said Kyiv had already signed a drone deal with Finland earlier in the day and announced that the country is preparing several similar deals with Ukraine's allies, such as Canada. He stressed that Europe needs protection and that Ukraine is developing defense capabilities in order to "provide security."
