Polish airports suspend flights amid Russian strikes

The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) said on Wednesday that Poland's Lublin and Rzeszow airports temporarily suspended flight operations to allow military aircraft to operate freely.

Earlier, Poland's Operational Command said military aviation operations had begun in Polish airspace in response to Russian strikes on Ukraine involving jet-powered drones. "These actions are of a preventive nature and are aimed at securing airspace and its protection, especially in areas adjacent to threatened zones," the command wrote on X.

It added that ground-based air defense and radar systems were on alert, while forces remained ready for an "immediate response."
