'US said to urge Lebanon not to return seized explosives to Hezbollah'

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio urged Lebanese President Joseph Aoun not to return the seized explosives to Hezbollah and to "exhaust all legal measures against anyone who ordered the shipment" and "financed it," Axios correspondent Barak Ravid reported on Thursday, citing a State Department official with knowledge of the conversation.

Earlier today, Hezbollah claimed ownership of the seized explosives that the Lebanese authorities took last week, noting that they were planned for use against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. Namely, the truck was found to be carrying 780 kilograms of explosives, as well as 250 kilograms of TNT and C-4 plastic explosives, when it was seized at a checkpoint in Dahr al-Baidar in the Bekaa Valley.
