Amgen Inc. disclosed in a filing made public on Friday that a cybersecurity incident took place earlier in July, with some data being stolen. The exfiltrated data includes proprietary data, patient-protected health information, and other information.
The company shared that after identifying the incident, it activated a cybersecurity response plan, further implementing containment measures, and engaging independent cybersecurity forensic experts. So far, the occurrence has not impacted the firm's products, manufacturing operations, or financial reporting systems.
"The Company continues to assess whether, and/or the extent to which, patient, confidential business information, intellectual property, research and development, or other information may have been accessed, acquired, or exfiltrated," Amgen stated.
