Latvian Minister of Interior Janis Dombrava announced on Friday that the border between Latvia and Belarus has been closed "due to technical reasons." In a statement, Dombrava called on all those who have not yet returned to Latvia to do so by utilizing other routes.
Earlier this week, Dombrava took to X to urge all Latvian citizens to abandon plans to travel to Belarus. "In the context of Belarus's escalated migration hybrid warfare, safe movement between countries may become difficult," he previously warned.
