US President Donald Trump said he was “not sure” whether Washington would allow Ukraine to produce Patriot missile interceptors, casting doubt on an earlier pledge, the Financial Times reported Thursday.
“I’m not looking for missiles. We’re looking for peace,” Trump told the FT, adding that envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff would soon visit Ukraine.
The comments followed a recent escalation between Tehran and Kyiv over a Ukrainian attack on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea. Iran said the strike killed one sailor and warned that it would not go unanswered, while Ukraine said the ship was carrying military cargo.
