An Iranian lawmaker warned on Friday that any attack on Iran's electricity infrastructure would prompt retaliatory strikes against US infrastructure.
"If Iran's electricity infrastructure is targeted, in addition to the infrastructure of the countries launching the attack, US infrastructure will also be directly targeted," Hossein Ali Haji Deligani, a member of parliament, was quoted as saying by Mehr News.
Haji Deligani said Iran regarded attacks on civilian infrastructure as a war crime and would not initiate such attacks, but warned Tehran would reconsider its defense doctrine if its power grid came under attack.
