United States Treasury Secretary said on Friday that his department is looking for Iranian assets "all around the world."
Speaking at a cabinet meeting at Camp David, Bessent stressed that "that money will go to the Iranian people" or American citizens who were in some way harmed by Iranian operations.
The secretary further claimed that the US administration started taking action against Iran's economy in March 2025, leading a major Iranian bank to collapse and the country's central bank to print money. "Now, they have inflation of 180%, and they aren't able to pay their troops," he concluded.
