The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Wednesday Telegram shut down one of its public relations accounts after it was used to receive information from people in the region about US military movements and bases.
In a statement carried by the IRGC-affiliated Fars News, the IRGC said people in several countries, "particularly Jordan and Kuwait," had submitted information on US positions through the Telegram account.
IRGC accused its "enemies" of closing the account because they feared the information being shared and said it would soon introduce a new, "secure and reliable" platform for communicating with what it described as "freedom-loving" people around the world.
