Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas on Tuesday to discuss regional and international developments, the Iranian ministry said.
"During the call, they discussed and exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, as well as ways to help reduce tensions and maintain stability and security in the region," the statement showed.
The conversation came after Araghchi spoke with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, earlier today. Araghchi said he was assured Ukraine's strike on an Iranian vessel was "unintentional" but demanded restitution, adding Iran "does not seek escalation."
