Iranian hardline outlet Raja News attacked Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday over his comments that Ukraine described a strike on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea as unintentional and was willing to compensate for damages.
The outlet accused Araghchi of downplaying the incident, citing comments by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Kyiv achieved results from long-range strikes in the Caspian Sea targeting vessels it said were involved in transporting military cargo from Iran.
“How can a complex military operation from a distance of over a thousand kilometers be called "unintentional," when the highest executive official of the hostile country has explicitly taken responsibility for it and boasted about it? Is accepting such a flimsy excuse anything short of an insult to the intelligence of the Iranian nation and a betrayal of the blood of the martyred sailor who was killed in this aggression?” Raja News posted on X.
