US President Donald Trump is weighing whether to resume major combat operations against Iran, with US Central Command preparing an option for a 10- to 14-day intensive air campaign aimed at degrading Tehran’s missile capabilities, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The plan, developed by CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper, would represent a significant escalation from the previous round of strikes, according to people familiar with the discussions. Trump is also considering a more limited military response while leaving room for diplomacy, the report added.
Cooper has prepared an option for a punishing air campaign against Iran that could take up to two weeks, people familiar with the matter said.
