Iran-aligned Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said Wednesday that the group had targeted eight Saudi oil tankers since announcing a maritime navigation ban on Saudi shipping on July 20, according to the Houthi-run Saba news agency.
Saree said five tankers were targeted in the Red Sea and three in the Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea.
He said the group had also prevented 48 Saudi oil tankers from passing and forced them to turn back, including 34 in the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean and 14 in the Red Sea.
