The Group of Seven (G7) condemned Iran's continued attacks against its regional neighbors and its "disruption of international trade, energy security and the global economy."
In a joint statement on Friday, the group called for the "immediate and full restoration of navigational rights and principles in the Strait of Hormuz," pledging to redouble collective efforts and commending the US for supporting the free flow of commerce through the waterway. The document then stressed that the G7 will maintain sanctions against Russia, promising cooperation with the International Energy Agency and global partners to limit spillovers into commodity markets.
The remarks came in the same statement that addressed the new diesel fuel release, with the group stressing that citizens’ concerns about energy prices remain "a top priority."
