Anthropic is reportedly prepared to accept a valuation significantly below its target of $2 trillion, the Financial Times reported Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The company plans to proceed with its listing ahead of the US Thanksgiving holiday later this month, targeting a fundraising of $80 billion to $100 billion at a valuation of between $1.25 trillion and $1.75 trillion.
An investor in the company said Anthropic would likely be prepared to price its IPO "very conservatively" at around $1.5 trillion, with room for the valuation to rise thereafter.
