The Syrian government intends to send "thousands" of troops to Yemen and Saudi Arabia to fight the Houthis, AFP reported on Saturday, citing multiple Yemeni officials.
According to three separate Yemeni military sources, hundreds of Syrian fighters are already deployed in both countries. Another source from the Saudi-backed Yemeni presidency confirmed that new troops will be arriving to fight the "Houthi rebels."
The Yemeni government recently sought help from the EU to thwart the Houthi threat, warning of the alleged Iranian weapon shipments.
